Poke poke... is this thing on? @ 03:14 pm

minim_calibre:
Howdy! Long time, not talking about makeup. I blame my child.

So, what's new in your glam routine? Got a favorite lipstick or nail polish? Share with the class!

Eep! Accidentally nuked the one good comment when deleting the spam one. Shoot. Sorry, Jilli!

I guess this means the 90s are really over @ 08:12 pm

Hard Candy is currently having a 75% off everything sale. Apparently they're doing a massive inventory reduction as Hard Candy products will no longer be available in stores, and while some items will continue to be sold online through their website, rumor has it that they are possibly discontinuing everything other than their gift sets... but I repeat, 75% off SALE. So if you ever wanted a glitter eye pencil or pastel nail polish, now is the time to stock up!

pantry as beauty shop? @ 10:11 am

dreamtree:
Can anyone here personally recommend homemade cosmetic, skin and hair products and/or offer a link to a reliable reference site? I've seen mentions of olive oil as a moisturizer and sugar scrubs as exfoliants, but does anyone here have strong pro or con feelings about it? Do you find that it costs significantly more or less? In the case of homemade body moisturizers, do you find it wrecks the effect of perfume oils?

Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

Aromaleigh help @ 08:01 am

morseren:
I have been using Aromaleigh mineral foundation for over a year now. I love how it works and how my skin feels. One small problem though. I am trying to find a serum or moisturizer to wear under the powder foundation that won't make it cake or turn oily. Any suggestions? My skin is fairly normal with no particular oily or dry spots. I also have some very fine lines around the eyes though.

Do any of you makeup divas have any tips for daytime eye makeup designs when wearing glasses. Normally I wear contacts, but lately my eyes have been reacting badly to my contacts. I wear gray toned cat-eye glasses. I work in a library so nothing too extreme. But I am open to experimentation.

I need help!

My feet are a horrible dry mess...so much so that I'm even embarrassed to go for a pedi. I need to know what people do to make their feet not look like lizard feet. Buffing? Moisturizers? One of those cheese grater-like filers?

Help me!

New, and have a dilema... @ 02:10 pm

ainos2:
Hello! My name is Lisa, and I'm 44, although I can pass as 34.
I'm looking for a (miracle)foundation. I have damaged skin at the bottom edge of my under-eye circle. My skin is medium fair, with rosey undertones. I also have fine, facial fuzz. I am looking for suggestions for a foundation to help cover the redness, yet not draw attention to the skin damage and fuzz. I'm currently using L'Oreal true match, in cool, classic beige, however, I want something better. I generally only wear foundation in the "T-zone" to even out my color.
Not me, however, picture represents under-eye damage.

Liquid eyeliner @ 01:08 am

blueslide:
Can any of you cosmetic studs recommend me your favorite liquid eyeliner?

It's the end of the line for my current black, and as I rarely use the brown, it's time for a replacement. The one I had was from MAC, and worked OK until it crumped, (it has either run out or dried out) but if anyone has a fabulous favorite I'd love to hear about it. I'm looking for something that goes on smooth on my no-longer-teenaged eyelids, instead of specky and scratchy, and stays put, if possible. No, no I'm not too old for liquid eyeliner, surely! I've taken care of my skin. So. Yeah. That's what I'm looking for.

Thanks for any help!

henna questions @ 06:59 pm

helvirago:
I have middling-blonde hair with some grey, about shoulder length. I bought some Rainbow Henna in Red Copper, and I was wondering if anyone had some ideas to offer on two questions: First, I've done two strand tests now (one with water, one with coffee) and can't see any difference. Does anyone know why this would be? Second, do I really need to do it in one-inch sections? That'll take a long long time, and I think I'll need a whole lot of clips to keep other sections out of the way.
